The Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) shot callers currently have no plans of adding a seventh franchise to the fold, the league’s project executive Shoaib Naveed is quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.
PSL initially started with five teams, while a sixth one named Multan Sultans was added to the league in 2018.
When asked if the league is interested in adding a seventh side, Naveed replied in the negative, adding that a decision in this regard cannot be made until the league’s popularity and fan appetite has been thoroughly evaluated.
“We will take this decision after discussing it with franchises and assessing the appetite for additional teams in terms of fan experience and commercial perspective,” Naveed told the publication.
“Currently, we have no plans about adding another team in next edition of PSL.”
The PSL 2020 starts February 20.
